Questions about 2548

Q1 Why 'The 2548 Group'? The group became known as 'The 2548 Group' following the purchase of Birmingham City Transport 2548 (JOJ 548) in April 1979.

Q2 What can I do to help? Well, money to help fund restoration work is always welcome, the group sometimes need to purchase items required for the restoration and to pay for some specialist work.

See the Support Us page.

Q3 Where is 2548 stored/located? 2548 is located at the Aston Manor Road Transport Museum, Witton, Birmingham.

Q4 Can I come and see the progress? Yes you can view 2548 when the museum is open or by private appointment.

Q5 When will the restoration be complete? We do not yet know when restoration work will be complete, it depends on how much time the team have available, and on the group having sufficient funds available.

Following the excellent progress made in 2008 we hope to complete the renovation work in 2009.

Questions about the Website

Q6 Why am I unable to view the Gallery Pictures? To view our 'Gallery Pictures' Javascript must be enabled in your web-browser, and your browser should be configured to allow pop-ups from this site (holding the Ctrl Key when you click the thumbnail picture may work).

Q7 Why am I unable to view the 2548 Video? The 2548 Video requires the DivXTM Web Player be installed on your system, without this your system will not be able to play the video.

Q8 Why do many of the Gallery Thumbnails/Images have rough edges on Horizontal or Vertical lines ? In order to reduce the image sizes and improve download speeds (from our server) most of the Gallery Images are re-sampled versions of the original high resolution scanned Photographs or Digital Camera pictures, the 'zig-zag' effect is the result of the re-sampling process.

  Q9 Why should I register?

Why do I need to login?
